Network Rail Activities in Braehead – update

Work is progressing at Millhall Road on the new pedestrian bridge to replace the ground level crossing over the railway. Network Rail have been in touch to say they expect the groundworks to finish in the coming weeks, with work on the bridge itself starting in May.  The bridge is scheduled to open at some point in August, with the ground level crossing closing at the same time.

From 6th May until 5th August, Network Rail will be undertaking piling works on the railway between Bannockburn and Stirling. This piling is to provide foundations to install the gantries which will carry the cables that will electrify the railway in the next couple of years.  The work will take place overnights and will be noisy.  The foundations will be located every 50m, so the noise will be localised and temporary.

Network Rail have organised a community drop in event for Tuesday 11th April at the Crawford Hall from 4pm-7pm, where their engineers will be on hand to answer any questions.
