Heritage Trail – Guided Tour

March 12, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Stirling Council’s Archaeologist Murray Cook and CDT Chair Chris Kane will be leading a historic walk around the Braehead & Broomridge Heritage Trail.  We’ll walk through the English Camp from the Battle of Bannockburn and stop in the area immortalised in the poem “Scots Wha Hae”.  We’ll learn about the rich mining heritage of our area, see where modern tartan was invented and find out how the railway divided our community in half in 1848.

This is a FREE guided walk which will leave from and return to the Braehead Community Garden.

Sign up is not necessary, but it will help with planning if you fill in this form

If the weather is bad, we’ll instead give a short talk on the heritage trail in the Community Garden Polytunnel.
